I can see how to export as text, but the option of "import as text" is grayed out. How do import as text?

What I need to do is export data in a format that MS Excell can read; operate on the data; re-output in a format Wavsour can import. I thought text format is the answer but I cannot import ast text, only as raw binary.

Any thoughts?
