Hi
I have some files with 2 way conversation (like a course). The volume of the "teacher's" voice is by far lower than my voice, because the mics distance.
Is there a way to automaticaly raise the teacher's volume voice without raising mine? Let's say: a "command" like this: Raise all sound that is between x, and Y decibels to 12?
Thanks

Select an area where you have just this lower volume voice. Estimate or use the analyzing/statistics tools to see the average level in this section.
Compare this to the levels in the higher volume sections, make note of both.
Select the whole audio file, go to Tools /Auto detect region/Custom. Type into the level box a value that is less than the higher volume section average.
For the position, choose markers set at start and end. The idea here is that the auto detect region will find all the regions where the level is "too low" and mark them.
You might have to do couple of tries at the level value to capture the right regions.
Once the regions are marked, double click each region one at the time to get them selected, go to Process / Normalize and use one of the preset values or
go to Custom and questimate a level that will bring the lower part high enough. Repeat for all the other marked regions. |
