Assume I open Wavosaur and drag a *.mp3 on it.

1. How can I tell Wavosaur to open the sub-window inside always automatically maximized?

2.) How can I tell Wavosaur to use the full window width for the WAV display?
Currently the song ends always approx 25% left of the right window border.

Looks BAD !!

Why is there such a big grey area?
I want to display the song in maximal possible widths

Have a look at this snspshot with comment:

No problem detected, it is the normal visualization of the waveform.

Hmm, maybe this is a implementation "by design" but its bad.

No idea why there should be a grey area.

Users should have as much information as possible.
And stretching a song over the full width of main window shows
obviously more information as currently.
