Hi there.

I am new to audio editing software and am actually looking for some software to help my dance teacher. I took a read through the waveosaur features but did not find what I need - - more likely I did not understand totally what I am reading.

With the latest Wavosaur, can I:

1. Slow down or speed up a song?

2. Trim a song at the beginning and/or end?

3. "cut out" sections of a song and "glue" pieces together

4. Record the audio on my computer? (eg for instance if I want to play a DVD and record a particular sound)

5. Which formats can I convert between (eg can I convert between wav and mp3, etc)?

Thanks in advance for your patience,
Michelle

Hello, welcome to the forum

i'll try to reply accurately !

1) you can slow down or speed up a song :
go to menu -> process -> pitch shift -> simple
enter positive value for speeding up, negative value for slowing down.

if you want to change the speed without affecting the pitch, it's a little more complicated, but still easy : http://blog.wavosaur.com/timestretch-in-wavosaur-for-free/

2) yes, you can use menu -> edit-> trim crop (or CTRL + T)
there is also an auto trim function based on the level : menu->tools->auto-trim

3) you can copy and paste (menu -> edit or CTRL+X & CTRL+V), and also "paste mix". it's ok for most needs, but if you have more advanced things to do, you better use a multi track recorder/ arranger (a sequencer)

4) you can record with Wavosaur, but it's not suited for very long recording (better for one shot sound , or a song (from 3 to 10 mn))

5) you can open mp3 files (and save as wav), you can also export as mp3 : http://www.wavosaur.com/forum/export-as-mp3-with-lame-encoder-t292.html
