Hello. Nice program you have here. I am going to use wavosaur to edit our samples, but one thing that has me confused is the root note having to be in hexadecimal. Us musicians read notes, not code.

Is there a table anywhere that shows the hexadecimal equivalents of actual octaves and notes (like c#2 or f5) to be used in wavosaur?

Samplers like Halion read that particular information which helps GREATLY in sample placement, so we use it quite a bit.

Till now, i've used Sony Sound Forge 8 Pro and it works just fine, but with others helping us to create large numbers of samples from our recording sessions in a smaller period of time, I would like to use a simple and inexpensive tool that all of us can use. Hence why we are looking at wavosaur - small, easy to use and works really well, so far.

However, none of them know about hexadecimal and, to be honest, although once upon a time I even used that system in assembler programming, I have NO IDEA how it translates to octaves and musical notes.

Thanks in advance.

Mike

Hello, welcome to the Wavosaur forum!
I think we can add an additional dropdown menu with the equivalent values in "notes" like C5 C#5 etc.. for the next release.
3C is the root note (= C4), i'll post here a full table of equivalent in this thread as soons as i found one (or make one!)

Rex,

Thank you. Since we are working on our vsti now, next release may not be soon enough, but a chart would be awesome.
