Hello biferi & welcume to the forum

Set Selection Range is easy, you enter the selection start and the selection end (in sample, not in seconds) and this set the selection.

I got your Reply but I did not understand what you ment.

If I have an Audio File open and I want to say just pick a spot out of it I can use the Set Selection Range.

Now I know when I am in the Set Selection Range Window I put the start and end Selections in the box.

What I don't know is how do I find out the right time to put in? What I meen is what if I want it to start a little bit in the middle of the Audio File and end say a little bit after that.

I don't see ware I findout the Time or SEC I need to put in the Set Selection Box.

Thanks

Use the Set Selection Range when you know your file and need a precise range without having to find it with the mouse (and reading the range value in the status bar)

otherwise, just use the mouse to make a selection, it's easier and faster.

Ok I get what you are telling me.

You can put the Start Selection in SEC and the End Selection in SEC and it will just Seclect that Range.

But when I have an Audio File opened and I hit play ware does it tell me the Time that is going by?

I will have to see the Time go by befor I can pick what part in SEC to enter.

What SEC stands for ?
Is this an acronym ?

i don't think this is for SEConds, because in my first message i wrote :

the time is given on top of the windows :

You can right select the time format you want to display (in samples, in seconds, in Hour:Min:Sec) in the Options menu --> Sample display

At the bottom you can also see useful informations :
bit-depth | channel | samplerate | selection start - selection end | selection duration | playbar position | zoom size
