I've got a couple of questions about how Wavosaur handles tempo; any help would be much appreciated.

1. Is there another way of setting the tempo? The only way I know of is with the dialogue box you get from Tools > Slicing/Region > Set marker at BPM.

2. I *think* tempo is a global setting - i.e. Wavosaur can only work with one tempo at a time - rather than a local setting that applies to specific audio files. Have I got this wrong? Is there any way of having different tempi at the same time (e.g. if you were working on two loops at different bpm, and you wanted to apply time-dependent VST effects [e.g. delay] to them at their respective tempi)?

(Hope this makes sense!)

Thanks in advance,

td

There is a global tempo for the VST host, but i have found some VST that doesn't recognize, so it needs more testing.
So for the moment this tempo is set to 125 BPM, you can change it by editing the wavosaur.cfg file --> find these lines :

VSTBPM
125

The "Set marker at BPM" works only for inserting markers and has no incidence on the VST host BPM

Aha - that explains it! Thank you for the information.

In which case, I'm going to make a feature request: a way of changing the tempo from within Wavosaur itself without having to manually edit the config file. (I know I've made other requests already - and I'm sure there's plenty to do besides - but this would be really useful, so I'll add it to the FRs section of the forum...)
