|
|
Bonjour.
I'm trying to record the output from my Windows Media Player into Wavosaur but find that the volume of the recorded audio is much lower than the original. Is there a setting on Wavosaur that I should use?
Thanks for your help. |

Hello, welcome to this forum!
What is your setup ? have you an onboard soundcard ?
The input level have to be adjusted at "mixer level" it depends on your soundcard and the drivers.
In most case you can set up this level in the Windows XP :
--> go to config panel
--> find the "sounds and audio peripheral" or something like this
--> there's an "audio" tab from where you can launch the Windows mixer
I can't give more details as i have desactivated my onboard soundcard and don't have these options on my computer.
But i'm sure you'll be able to find this "mixer"! |

I've tried recording on 10 different programs and get the same result, LOW VOLUME. When I look in the Total Recorder configuration it seems that it uses a software mixer and boosts the recording levels internally. |

Don't forget to have a look at your recording chain from the beginning to the end
you can always boost the volume after, but it's better to have the highest dynamic, you really should have a look at how is working your soundcard
we have chosen to not change the mixer setting of the user, because it's a global setting for all applications in Windows, and this should be configured by the user, not any application |
