Hi and Seasons Greetings Everyone

After reading Dudemans, Piu Tyain, and Oldronruns posts I am still not clear on the Volume or Normalize functions.
Nomalize is usually for entire file or Batch Processing.
Volume is usually for smaller Selection or sample of the file.
Correct ?
But you could interchange the functions (except Batch Process) to achieve the same results using the custom Dialog ? Yes ?
An example would make it clearer if you could provide it.
I have the Manual V2.6 PDF and eagerly await the next edition.

Thank you for an explanation.

Hello, welcome to the forum

about volume and normalize features:

-volume: increase or decrease the volume of the selection by + or - n dB,
you choose the value of the increasing/decreasing in dB.
if there's no selection, only a single sample is affected (the single sample at cursor/playbar)

-normalize : increase or decrease the volume to make the loudest peak reach the value you enter (in dB) : if the loudest sample in your file = -6 dB and you choose "normalize to 0 dB", the file will be increased by +6 dB
If there's no selection, the entire file is processed.

i hope this make it clear

Thank you REX

Now I completely understand the different functions and can use them accordingly. I am enjoying learning and using Wavosaur. Thanks for the application and support.
