How to reproduce:
1. Load a standard 16 bit WAV file.
2. Open a new empty 24 bit audio file in Wavosaur (1 second long by default).
3. Copy and paste the 16 bit file content onto the 24 bit blank file, by overwriting the silent part. (Notice how it says 24 bit in the file window.)
4. (optional step) Do some editing.
5. Save the new file.
The saved file is 16 bit.
If, however, you paste the 16 bit content before or after the silence, the saved file is 24 bit.
I realize that in a way this makes sense, but it's not expected behavior if the user selected a blank 24 bit file.
At the very least the properties at the bottom of the file window should indicate that it's 16 bit. |
