I normally introduce a lot of markers into my files. Their presence makes it difficult to see where is the position of the cursor. I think introducing a flag or whatever may be appropriate should be helpful to discern the cursor from the bookmarks. The different colour as it is at present isn't enough.

I already applied the competosaur4 skin. Indeed, it is better.

A different size, with respect to the bookmarks, would be still better.
