I've had good success with three VST plugins for processing MP3 files to listen to on iPod.
First is EDGE a subharmonic synthesizer.
Next is WIDTH, a stereo expander.
The last is a 31 band 1/3 octave stereo equalizer.
I have trouble getting a lot of VST plugins to show up in Wavosaur, they seem to load but once I click on VIEW, I don't see anything..
The ones I mentioned above work fine.. _________________ The first principle is that you must not fool yourself, and you are the easiest person to fool. -Richard Feynman- |

These are very useful VST's, this make me think that i should update the freeware VST list sticky post.
About the VSTs that don't show up it could be the GUI-less plugins, for the moment we do not provide a default GUI for this kind of plugins (it's in the todo list) |

I really like the Room Machine 844, it does a considerably better job than the program I was using before..
Tweaking the knobs to get just the right sound takes a while but the results are worth it.
Now I have to go and reboot my machine because I have too many windows open and it has slowed down too much to run Wavosaur.. _________________ The first principle is that you must not fool yourself, and you are the easiest person to fool. -Richard Feynman- |

V.I stereo to 5.1 converter VST plugin is free and work also with Wavosaur.
The procedure is simple:
- Open a stereo wav/mp3 audio.
- Convert to 6 channel with Process -> Channel Processing -> Insert channel (4 times)
- Load and Apply the V.I VST plugin
- Save the multichannel wav (and encode with Aften if you want also a free ac3 encoder) |

Your Welcome Rex!
Thanks for the link tebasuna51, I will have to check that out!
I like Room Machine 844 a lot also. I like it on a dry snare, or on soundhole pickups for acoustic. You can put a little ambience around the sound so that it DOES sounds like it is in a small room. I think this works better than just adding reverb to the dry signal, it seems to just make a track blend better.

|
|
On another thread I asked for a master volume control.
I've found a VST that comes close to doing what I asked for.
Gfader is a simple one knob volume control, I've been putting it last in my VST chain and then I can turn my sound card volume all the way up and regulate the headphone volume with Gfader while I'm in real time processing mode.

Try this website, there are some very nice VST plugins that work in Wavosaur.
http://www.jeroenbreebaart.com/
I'm currently checking out the Psychoacoustic Compressor and the Spatial Image Processor.
Both seem to work very well..
But my ancient 1.8 Ghz Celeron is groaning under the load of all the plugins I have running at the same time. :) Even when Wavosaur isn't doing anything, everything else on the 'puter is jerky and very slow.
My current rack:
Spatial Image Processor
31 Band EQ
Psychoacoustic Compressor
Gfader
This works quite nicely for processing MP3s to listen to on headphones.
Another good rack for this is:
RoomMachine 844
31 Band EQ
Psychoacoustic Compressor
Gfader _________________ The first principle is that you must not fool yourself, and you are the easiest person to fool. -Richard Feynman- |

i saw there is a VST multiband broadcast processing plugin, have you tried it ? i was looking at something like "energizer II" (i can't make it work now, don't know why, but i have no more GUI), i found the Stardust VST, and it can make a good broadcasting type of sounds! |

Poivre, I haven't tried the broadcasting processor but from what I can tell all of the programmer's plugins are of very high quality.
I'm very impressed with the Psychoacoustic Compressor and Spatial Image Processor.
If you are interested in broadcasting, I would say give it a try for sure. _________________ The first principle is that you must not fool yourself, and you are the easiest person to fool. -Richard Feynman- |
