Hi,

I've just downloaded Wavosaur to record a DJ mix as I havent got anything else installed on this machine and I won't run cracked software. I checked the levels on the VU, did a dummy recording to check it played back ok and then hit record and set about doing the mix.
Just over an hour later I finish the mix, hit the record button to stop Wavosaur recording and my PC promptly resets itself as its drawing the waveform! (I have 2GB and a dual core on this PC so shouldn't be an issue there)
It has saved a 1.16GB file called wavosaur that Windows is saying is a REC (?) file but Wavosaur will not open it.
Is there any way I can recover this file? Will be a real pain to have to record the mix again as it went really well!

Thankyou in advance for any assistance

Ali/Mobius

Unfortunately for the moment Wavosaur is not optimised to open or record large files (>1GB seems very important).

To record large files, we developed Streamosaur (direct to disk recorder in wav or mp3).

So for your problem, it's always possible to recover your recording with the .rec file without problem. So don't delete the file, and store it with another name ! I try to produce a little exe the week end to convert this file type in mp3 or wav, if you really need it.
But note that Wavosaur will not open it, but it will be possible to listen your mix or open it with other audio editor/player.

"Thugs" is a very good song, congratulation.

Thanks for your swift reply, it would be appreciated if there is a way of getting it back to a wav, i can convert it no problem from there.
:)

Hi Wavosaur team,

I have the same problem as described above.
Yesterday I`ve recorded some "large files" by using the internal Mic of my NB -even so, in fact they are not even bigger than 500Mb
And just the .rec file seems to be left. Shorter files worked well…
I've tried to use Media Player; Nero to open this file without success... and now learned that a specifically written .exe file could do the job!?
Could you please help me to get this .exe file or let me know where to find it ...

Many thanks for your support and this great Audio editor.

I'm looking for that little program that makes it possible to recover a *.REC file. Can anyone help me?
