Hi, It could be awesome to do that, far more convenient than do it on a sequencer for resampling or effecting samples.

I imagine the ability to create external busses for multi i/o audio interface and outboard fx , realtime monitoring with (automatic ?) latency compensation.

I don't know any audio editor that can do that, and plugins are definitely not alone in audio effecting. :)

Everyday i dream about that. |

I imagine the thing like that with my gear:

I have a motu 828mk2 with 8i/o, so in preferences or what i could create external send/return buses a la cubase .

Bus 1: OUT: Motu analog 1 / IN Motu analog 1

Bus 2: OUT Motu analog 6 / IN Motu Analog 5

etc...

Ice on the cake will be the ability to rename the bus for better comprehension:

BUS1 = Tube preamp

Bus 2 = Spring reverb

Bus 3 = guitar pedal distortion

Bus 4= C64 filtering

etc...

Then when you are editing your sample instead of choosing a VST you choose your bus and you start to tweak you sample on your outboard gear.

I spoke about latency compensation for direct monitoring issues and things like that.

Then you click "render", "ok" or what, and it bounces the new sample.

With an effect chain a la soundforge that have the ability to mix outboard gear and VST it would be even more awesome.

See what i mean ? |

				| Sounds interesting, i'll tell the dev' about that, i don't have any idea about how difficult it is to implement |

Reaper already does that, and so will Live7.

It can indeed be quite amazing (but not a priority imo). |

Thanks for the info Youri, i did'nt know for Reaper.

Live 7 is not an editor, you can do like i do on cubase actually i imagine but it is definitely not convenient, you cannot batch process for example. |
