Really is not a bug because is a legal issue, but can be a source of problems, I am talking about the extrachunk 'SAUR' (520 bytes) added by WavoSaur to all the saved wav's.

When encoding multichannel wav's to ac3 with Aften or to aac with NeroAacEnc is a common practice add parameters like -readtoeof 1 (Aften) or -ignorelength (Nero) to avoid problems with wav's > 4GB. Then the data at end of file is treated like valid sample sounds and the 'SAUR' chunk is converted to a end click.

I know is not a WavoSaur problem because is a legal chunk and, now, can't write wav files greater 4 GB, but many GUI's to encode with Aften/NeroAacEnc add these parameters by default no matter if are small wav's.

Olds audio editors add also extrachunks at end of file, but modern one's write extra files or put them at the beginning or, at least, let the user config this behavior.

Actually only the WavoSaur version ("1, 0, 0, 8000") is write in this chunk and I think is not necessary.

First , actually 'SAUR' chunk is not used, but it will be soon.

We don't want to create another file to store data, like others soft, because after multiple use, user has lot's of file on HD without knowing
what it is. After you could have problem of synchro if you use different editor: the size of the wav for example.

The idea to put this chunk at the beginning of the file (after important chunk like 'fmt ' for example) could be good, but any free/commercial soft doesn't support datas before 'data' chunk! We hesitated to do this, but lot's of soft has 'data' file offset coded in hard (bad guys!! Wink )

In conclusion, extra chunks are defined in the wav format with lenght of the chunk. Wav files generated were tested with lot's of editor/sampler without problem. It is not planed to change it.

Could you please add an option (a global one, or in the "Save As..." dialog, or maybe additional "export" command) to save only "pure" WAV file, with no "SAUR" chunk? In some cases, highly compatible WAV files are required, containing only standard "fmt" and "data" chunks. It is inconvenient to use another editor/tool to delete "SAUR" chunk from the file.
