When I select a region of a wave or even the whole wave and find a vst (or chain) I like it sounds great until I try to apply it. Then it peaks out (blue top to bottom) and a high pitched squeel knocks me off my chair (especially if I'm wearing headphones. What's causing this? |

This should not happen. I think it's a VST effect issue
What VST effects are causing this ?
You can also post (or send by mail) a wav sample of this high pitched noise. And we'll try to fix this issue! |

This happened with Glaceverb, Freeverb and classic reverb. I'm at work so I can't get ya a sample of the wave right now and trust me, you don't want to hear the sound. My dog heard it from he other side of the house.
*Oh, not sure if this helps but he wave came from one I was working on in Reaper and used "edit in external editor". |

I tried with the Glaceverb VST (a very good free reverb!), it works well with stereo files but i was able to obtain a big noise and strange results with a MONO sample.
I'll tell the dev about it, we'll try to fix this.
Actually try to convert the sample to stereo before applying the reverb and tell us if it works! |

It was indeed a mono wave so I will try converting it to stereo tonight. I should be able to reconvert it to mono after the effect has been apllied and then save it to return it to Reaper right? |

you can convert to stereo, apply then convert to mono, you can use the second and thirtd buttons in the process toolbar, it's faster :

...so that's fine. A few more clicks but I think I can handle that!
Thanks!

With the last release (v1.0.0.9000) this problem should not appear anymore.
Tell us if the reverb you use is now working well in Wavosaur! |
