I'm currently using the plug-in version of a standalone program, Amplitude Jimi Hendrix, which simulates his various amps, effects, etc. When using the standalone version, you are able to adjust the settings and immediately hear the effects on your tone. When using the plug-in version in Wavosaur though, you can't hear the effect until after you've applied it to a track. That being said, is there any way to hear how the effect will sound *before* applying it to the track or is this just a limitation of VST plugins? Thanks.

You can hear the VST effect in real time : you have to check the "processing" checkbox near the "rack" button. Don't forget to uncheck it after you have applied the effect.
