If nothing else, is there a way to retrofit FLAC or something?
That would make me ditch Wavelab once and for all, and I've been waiting for that great day for more than a decade |

I respectfully disagree - Reaper for instance makes it very easy to have every track in a project flac, so it's perfect quality yet much smaller file size near an MP3.
If for no other reason, how many freeware plugins are made right now? Excellent quality? Superb. It stands to reason it can be an insult to those plugin makers to be using their stuff on low quality formats. Yes, MP3 format is okay if it's cheap laptop speakers you're listening to, but you can easily tell the reverb sounds worse in MP3 vs 16-bit, and 16-bit already is old @ 25 years consumers have had it!
I'm jut saying, with flac support Wavosaur could beat Wavelab in some areas and I believe many people would donate heavily once Wavosaur is an indispensable notepad of audio editors. It's the most needed thing in audio right now. |

Talking about the FlaC, it's a pity that it's not widely supported in "ipod"-like devices.
but i think that it's more alive than ogg, ogg is new fully dead, but FLac is still a good choice for lostelesse formate.
i vote for fLAc ! |

+1 for FLAC
It was added to Cool Edit Pro way back in the late '90s to early 2000s as a plugin, similar to Ogg Vorbis, by the name of flac.flt . Before David Johnston sold his Cool Edit software to Adobe, he had a company with Robert Ellison called Syntrillium Software, and it was based in Phoenix, Arizona.
You can write David Johnston a note at his Zen Dog Software site, zendogsoftware.com . Or write him a note on the jimcofer.com blog page, for details about the *.flt plugins. Maybe Wavosaur can incorporate *.flt support too, and more people will use Wavosaur as a result ! _________________ -Grapster |

Flac support around the world has definitely grown. That's all Wavosaur lacks, bless your heart |
