Much like in cooking, once all the ingredients are mixed in, it's hard to get anything out of there...without heavy chemistry, or trying to cover or compensate by mixing more stuff in there.
Nothing to really laugh about, but kinda charming to think that some people do visualize audio being like a big canvas with all the separate entities, the instruments and the voices. Well fine, but then one also has to imagine that for removing any character from the big picture, you can't simply cut out the outline of said being, but have to remove from the picture all the colours which contribute to that character. Now wouldn't that also remove parts from the other figures then? Of course it would, and exactly that is the problem with this.
But in the picture you can at least specify from which area you remove the colour, wouldn't that work in audio too? In a way, yes. Here the big picture is the whole stereo field, certain area is one specific spot within the stereo field. You have the item to be removed in one tight spot, like hard center, left or right? If so, you might be able to cut frequencies in that area, without affecting too much the big picture, all the others.
Easy, no. |
