I've read up a lot on this software and it sounds perfect but here is why I am unsure.

I am totally new to recording my music. I have never used software like this aside Multitrack app on my iPhone. I wish to record slightly better and mp3 files for PERSONAL use. I am not too serious about my music yet I want to have recordings.

Here is the issue: Does Wavosaur let you record in layers? As in, I can record my guitar rift, then play it back WHILE recording the lyrics over the rift? Using headphones of course so the playback isn't double recorded...

The playback is essential. Due to me never really looking for something like this I can't really tell in reading about this software if it is for me. So does it have the feature described above?

Thanks!

Hello,

it sounds like you need a sequencer / DAW
Wavosaur is more an audio editor (for editing single samples, mastering a mixdown, recording single take)

You should have a look at Reaper by Cockos

Thanks! I'll look into it now =)

Edit: Okay I got Reaper but my only issue is it's not free. I take care of my mom and don't have the best job so it would take me a few months to work up the cost for it.

Do you recommend any FREE software that function similar to Reaper, at least having the multitrack feature? I can always edit in wavo afterall =)

Double edit: So far I found one I think is good enough for my purposes. 100% free, has a multi track feature, and it's super easy to use. Audacity. If you know of any other 100% free wit multitrack with perhaps a higher recommendation let me know =)
