hello,
i'm new in the forum but a old wavosaur user! it's great and very professional i think! i've read that the daw reaper in the latest version has a professional timestretch and pitchshift algorithm called "elastique2". can't you implement that in wavosaur too? it would be great to have such a thing onboard - i'm sure it will cost license fees and i know that wavosaur is based on donations but maybe...just an idea! :) |

Hello IkeTurna and welcome to the forum.
Well we think that with 80 donations by 2 years, it's not yet the "fees time"... :)
Perhaps with 8000 donations!
You're welcome. _________________ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

thanks
i already assumed that!
only 80 donations in 2 years? i think wavosaur is so professional that every user should make a small donation (i haven't yet but now i want to) can i donate via paypal?
but maybe you can make a deal with them (elastique audio/z-plane) like let's say: if a user wants wavosaur including high quality timestretch and pitchshifting he/she has to buy a license for 30€ or something?
no matter what thanks for this great audio editor and for putting in a lot of hard work and time to make it happen - let's appreciate it more! (what about making a poll at kvraudio about which audio editor people use and making some users aware of wavosaur and getting more donations? |

donation are possible with paypal (paypal button on the homepage)
Don't hesitate to make a poll, even if i personnally think that polls on internet are absolutly non-representative, it can give some hints.
Thank you for the kind words |

One remark: thanks to KVR. It is one of the first website which has promoted Wavosaur.
They understood quickly that Wavosaur is a free/donation ware. Other websites has not understood yet... _________________ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Thanks dejankuki for spreading the good vibe in Serbia
There are a lot of cool websites talking about Wavosaur (not enough ), the strange thing is that Wavosaur is quasi-ignored in France (although we did a french version) |

Yes it's definitly true Rex. French version is a big piece of code. But Wavosaur is not known... Strange. Perhaps without this custom version, the success would be more important.
Thanks for the link dejankuki! I don't understand Serbian, but this country seems "groovy" :) _________________ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Hi
About time-stretch : ELastique costs a huuuuge amount of money, it is insane.
However, there is a free time stretch algo (open source) called SOundTOuch : it is not as good as Elastique, of course, but it is okay in most basic situations.
If you need timestretching, you can use some plugins (there is a free one, and some payware which are not that much expensive).
You can also use the demo of EnergyXT2 (which features ELastique), usd as a vsti in Wavosaur. I have never tried, but it should work.
You can also use the Demo of Reaper (which is very cheap and features Elastique2). Jus stretch your file and render it, it will work.
About the french promotion of Wavosaur : there are several forums here and there, where i'd advice you to send them newsletters or press info each time there is an update?
Of course, there is AudioFanzine, but there is also SoundKonfusion, Samplestation, etc.
Cheers |

Thanks for the good infos youri.
My "signal processing" guy is working on another piece of code in Wavosaur. Time stretching is not yet ready.
But the idea is in the pipe. We have yet lot's of work with the bug correction, analysis precisions and so on... _________________ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

From what said above i understand that some kind of time stretch is on the works. I just want to point out that the top quality alternative to Elastique is Dirac and they do offer a free version http://www.dspdimension.com/technology-licensing/dirac/
Some of the limitations to the free version might not be so severe as a wave editor of more off line kind of work and not real time ala Ableton Live. |

Dirac is good indeed, but it is a cpu hog. |
